This lcd module works perfectly with the rigth library for arduino. I can't made it working with thos library https://bitbucket.org/fmalpartida/new-liquidcrystal/downloads but I got suucess by testing it with an arduino nano v3 with atmega 328 and this library https://app.box.com/s/dl5ntat7o0f3okee9suo. Very brigth blue lighting, need to adjust the contrast with the trimmer on the back to properly see the characters on the display.

neilp I found the default I2C address for mine is 0x3F so I had to change the hello world example to:LiquidCrystal_I2C lcd(0x3F,16,2); // set the LCD address to 0x3F for a 16 chars and 2 line display[https://app.box.com/s/dl5ntat7o0f3okee9suo example uses 0x20, and the documentation suggests it should be 0x27 by default, both wrong]
