I ordered this bulb as a follow up on and other type (not this one) that did not last long. The construction of the bulb is aluminum as indicated, it has an internal power supply. It produces a little more light then my 14 Watt CLF light. It does seem to function well. My watt meter indicates 8Watt as specified. Based on a "wet finger estimation" this bulp is twice as efficient as my CFL. How it behaves in the long run... time will tell. Note for the manufacturer: I would like to remove the plastic enclosure over the LEDs, unfortunately is to well glued :-). Is it possible to order them with non glued enclosures.
