Q: Does this dimmer make the use of resistors unnecessary in the l.e.d. light circuit?

deskpro256 No, you should still use them. If I'm thinking correct, because it's not stated anywhere, it should be dimming using PWM (pulse width modulating) which still uses 12V/24V, but for a brief moment, which means you still need current limiting resistors
